Design Consultant
Mariel's passion for design started since early in her childhood, that is the reason why she decided to study Architecture in the Dominican Republic, her hometown. After she finished her studies, she worked for various architecture firms, where she discovered how much the interaction with furniture and functionality intrigued her. So, she decided to do an MFA in Furniture Design at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
After she graduated with her master’s degree, she moved back to the Dominican Republic and started her own Interior design/ Furniture company. She had the opportunity of creating several coffee corners around the country for Nescafe Milano (Nestle Dominicana).
Mariel got married and moved to Miami. In 2018, she started to work for California Closets Miami and in 2021 moved to Charlotte where she continued working with California Closets. She has been blessed by being able to have clients from all over the world, that trust her, allowing Mariel to design beautiful storage units for their homes.
