Jason Delkou

I grew up in Australia, and I think arriving somewhere as an outsider changes how you see a room — you don't inherit the assumptions, so you notice what everyone else has stopped noticing. The dead corner. The shelf at the wrong height. The door that only opens halfway because it always has. That's what I'm looking for when I walk in. It comes from a career spent on composition, and on watching how people really use the things they've been handed. A system that works stops asking for your attention — by the second week you've forgotten it's there. The design is the easy part. What I'd love is to sit down with you first and hear what your mornings actually look like. Then we'll build something that stops the house from pushing back, where nothing has to be hunted down, stepped over, or forgotten.
